Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ is extremely proud of the work it does with a number of high-profile charities, for which we’ve raised substantial funds for over the years. 2014 was no different- for the second consecutive year SLH has raised over $1 million for charities across the globe.

The final figure of $1,055,785 was raised through live and silent auctions as well as prize raffles, all offering nights in SLH hotels at 267 events on behalf of 105 charities. Successful bidders of SLH nights are able to choose from SLH’s portfolio of 520 hotels in over 80 countries.

Paul Kerr, CEO for Small Luxury Hotels of the World said that “giving back to the community and generating funds for deserving charities is something we at SLH are very passionate about. This type of work is crucial to the SLH philosophy and is something we pride ourselves on each year as we continue to outdo our targets and raise over $1 million for deserving charities around the world.”

Charities supported in 2014 included: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (Americas), Cure Duchenne (Americas), NSPCC (EMEA), Prince’s Trust (EMEA), Room to Read (APAC) and Starlight Children's Foundation (APAC)

In the EMEA region, SLH also supported Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity by providing a number of luxury hotel nights helping to raise more than £50,000. Great Ormond Street Hospital is one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals with the broadest range of dedicated, children’s healthcare specialists under one roof in the UK. The hospital’s pioneering research and treatment gives hope to children who are suffering from the rarest, most complex and often life-threatening conditions, from across the country and abroad. According to Sophie Gargrave from Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity; “thanks to SLH we have been able to offer some fantastic prizes at our fundraising events which has helped us to raise vital funds and make a difference to young patients from across the UK”. SLH hopes to continue this success in 2015 and again raise over $1million for global charities through its strategic charity partnerships.
